ARROW MACHINERY Breakfast Cereals Production Line for Ready-to-Eat Cereals
ARROW MACHINERY designs complete breakfast cereal production lines powered by advanced twin screw extruders. The line directly processes mixed grains including corn, wheat, oats, rice, millet, and multi-grain formulations. With customizable dies and integrated drying, sugar-coating, and toasting modules, manufacturers can produce direct-expanded cereal balls, rings, stars, cocoa loops, flaked cereals, and co-extruded (filled) breakfast products.
Whether you are upgrading an existing line or building a turnkey ready-to-eat cereal processing plant, ARROW MACHINERY provides tailored machine configurations based on your recipe, capacity requirements, and local factory utilities.
Product Description:
How the technology works:
The cereal extrusion processing line utilizes a heavy-duty twin screw extruder to achieve high-temperature, short-time (HTST) cooking and starch gelatinization. Controlled shear forces, temperature, and moisture ensure consistent volumetric expansion and uniform crispiness across all shapes.
Versatile raw material processing:
Handles single or multi-grain flours (corn flour, wheat flour, oat flour, rice flour) as well as functional ingredients, high-fiber grains, and natural seasonings without compromising structural stability.
End-product variety & flexibility:
By changing extrusion dies and downstream modules, the same line can switch rapidly between direct-expanded shapes (rings, balls, stars, cocoa loops), co-extruded/center-filled snacks, and sugar-coated or chocolate-frosted breakfast cereals.
Flow Chart

Weighing and Mixing→Extruding→Pre-Drying→Coating→Drying and Cooling→Packing
1. Raw Material Mixing: High-efficiency mixer accurately blends various grain flours, liquids, and recipe components for optimal dough hydration.
2. Twin-Screw Extrusion: The twin screw extruder cooks and shapes the dough under precise temperature and pressure zones.
3. Pre-Drying : Removes surface moisture and sets uniform dimensions
4. Coating: Followed by liquid syrup/flavor spraying via multi-nozzle rotary coating drums.
5. Final Drying & Tunnel Cooling: Ensures low final moisture for long shelf-life before sending products to automatic packaging equipment.

FAQ
Q: What raw materials can be processed on this breakfast cereal production line?
A: The line processes corn flour, wheat flour, oat flour, rice flour, millet, and multi-grain mixes. It also supports functional ingredients such as high-fiber bran, cocoa powder, and natural fruit powders.
Q: Can one production line make different shapes of cereal?
A: Yes. By easily changing the extrusion dies and adjusting the rotary cutter speed, you can manufacture balls, loops, rings, stars, flakes, and other custom shapes on the same basic line.
Q: How does the twin screw extruder ensure consistent quality?
A: The twin screw extruder features independent heating and cooling zones along the barrel, coupled with precise PLC/HMI parameter control. This guarantees stable shear, exact starch gelatinization, and uniform product density.
Q: Is a sugar coating or chocolate coating system included?
A: A liquid spraying and rotary coating drum can be integrated into the line for applying sugar syrup, honey, chocolate, or savory flavorings uniformly onto the extruded cereal.
Q: What capacity ranges are available?
A: We offer standard lines ranging from 150 kg/h up to 1000+ kg/h industrial outputs. Custom high-capacity turnkey installations can also be engineered upon request.
Q: How do I request a formal quotation and layout design?
A: Please provide details regarding your primary raw materials, target product shapes/pictures, required hourly capacity, available factory dimensions, and local electrical standards. Our technical sales team will promptly generate a customized equipment proposal and line layout.
